Advances In Forklift Batteries and Chargers

On July 21, 2016 DC Velocity published an article addressing the advances in forklift batteries and chargers. The article written by Toby Gooley, Senior Editor includes a wide range of batteries; from those used in electric forklifts, to the mobile phone many of us rely on.

For those companies currently using class I, II, and/or III forklift the future looks extremely promising. The technology that is coming will help businesses not only monitor conditions of the batteries in real time but also help those looking to decrease/eliminate inefficiencies in their operation. One example to look forward to will be the ability to identify poor performing or damaged battery connectors.

This article provides details about the new charging systems which will allow for 1 charger being able to charge a variety of batteries. Which is definitely welcome for those companies that have multiple batteries, with varying voltages, and limited space. There are forklift battery chargers currently on the market that allow battery data to be downloaded from the charger using a smartphone running iOS or Android. The information collected can be viewed in real-time.

I recommend reading the full article ( Batteries and chargers: something new under the sun ) to learn more about advances in forklift batteries and chargers as they relate to forklifts and RFID (radio-frequency identification) readers.
